Jack is a regular customer of KSHD. This busy Thursday, he sent a short note to KSHD's team:
"I've seen too many bollards go bad after one winter. Paint bubbles. Rust bleeds through. The contractor blames the product. The buyer blames the contractor. Nobody wins.
So here's what I actually look for now.
Wall thickness: 2.0mm is too thin anywhere near traffic. Trucks, carts, even a heavy trash bin will dent it. 3.0mm or higher is the right call. Doesn't cost that much more.
Finish: Paint alone is useless outdoors. Hot-dip galvanizing is the real protection. 275g/m² zinc is a solid number to ask for. If the site is near salt water or snow melt, add a powder coat on top.
Mounting: Surface mount with base plates is easy and fast. But in-ground is stronger and looks cleaner. Only catch – you need drainage. Water sitting at the base will kill even galvanized steel over time.
KSHD's bollards check all these boxes. 3.0mm wall, hot-dip galvanized as standard. Surface or in-ground. Round or square. Custom colors if I need them.
If you tell them where the bollards are going – beach, parking lot, school – they'll tell you which spec holds up.
