After 14 months of material testing with the technical partner in Qingdao, KSHD has started production of its first wood-plastic composite (WPC) waste bin. The bin uses a 60/40 blend of recycled HDPE and oak fiber – no virgin plastic, no tropical hardwood.

The body measures 650mm wide, 450mm deep, and 900mm tall, with a wall thickness of 25mm. Inside sits a removable galvanized steel liner (1.2mm, zinc-coated 275g/m²). Total weight: 28kg. The bin passed a 500-hour salt spray test (ASTM B117) and carries a basic factory certificate for outdoor public use.
Why WPC instead of traditional timber? A municipal customer in Bremen, Germany, told us their wooden bins needed sealing every 18 months and started splitting after three years. We built this bin for that exact problem. No sealing. No splinters. No annual labor cost.

The first batch of 120 units is now going to a community park in Lyon. We're keeping another 40 units in stock for sample orders.
Custom orders: We can change the lid style, add a logo plate, or swap the liner for a double-compartment design. Minimum quantity for full custom starts at 200 units.
